Lynne Laverty - MEd Autism
I'm Lynne and I joined Centre for ADHD & Autism Support in Sept 2010 as a Family Support Worker and moved into the Director of Autism Services role three months later. Working closely with Therese, we manage the strategic development and day to day operation of the organisation, as well as delivering the specialist parenting courses and training.
I have an MEd in Autism, as well as a BA (Hons) in Business. I have level 2 counselling skills, am a trained PitDA (e-safety) facilitator, SIBS Sibling Group facilitator and a fully accredited sleep practitioner. I have a love for learning so will be embarking on a Masters in Voluntary Sector Management in Oct 2020. Academic learning is great, but my real lightbulb moments in understanding autism have come from my conversations with autistic people.
I am active in the local autism community, sitting on the autism partnership boards in two local authorities, and am a Governor in a Special School. My passion for supporting autistic individuals comes from being a parent of two autistic young people. I love the work I do at CAAS and feel privileged to work with such a strong team.
Outside of work, I love the theatre, afternoon tea and spending time with friends and family.
